Firstly, my portfolio can be viewed by following the link on the right hand side of the page. This external site contains pictures not on here and is, in my opinion, worth a look!
I am a young photographer based in Buckinghamshire with an interest in transport, particularly railways and modern fighter jets, as well as scenery and landscape photography.
Since late 2007, however, my interest has broadened to all sorts of photography - I'm regularly pestering my family, pets or whatever else I can find to use as subjects! Various types of weather also spur me on to look for a different shot.
Camera-wise I currently use a Canon EOS 400D with the standard 18-55mm lens, as well as a Sigma 70-300mm f4/5.6 lens. I purcahsed this, for well under the normal price, off the excellent Canon outlet on eBay, in August 2007, so any shots from then onwards are with that camera. Prior to that all my digital photography was on a Fuji S5500 which still remains as the backup camera. I also still have a Centon 35mm film SLR, with 50mm, 35-70 and 70 - 300mm lenses.
The Canon is now the main camera; I regularly use it with a series of filters, especially the Cokin P160 polariser, to give different results.
Publishing-wise, my photos have been used on DVD/CD inserts, in 5 guidebooks to date (early 2008), a WHSmith/Mortons book, and accross a wide range of websites. Commercial companies, such as Arriva Trains Wales, have also purchased images from time to time.
I hope you enjoy looking through the pictures. Please feel free to leave comments in the gallery or e-mail me at jon_potter@tesco.net
